Parcel Chain of Custody
Parcel chain of custody describes the record of who received, handled, stored and delivered a package inside an organisation. It matters because courier proof of delivery typically ends at reception, loading bay or the central mailroom, not at the employee or department that actually needed the item.
Without a clean internal handoff record, teams struggle to investigate late deliveries, missing items and disputed receipts. The risk increases where multiple staff members share responsibility across front desk, post room and building support roles.
To strengthen chain of custody, organisations should capture intake scans, storage location, recipient notifications, transfer events and final proof of delivery. Those requirements overlap directly with internal mail tracking and parcel management software.
Traizr is one example of a platform designed around those accountability steps. See Traizr for a current view of digital mailroom and parcel room workflows.
